Don't write if you don't have anything to say

"Hey, dude. Wazzup??!! I woke up this morning and it was so dreary outside, I decided to go back to bed.

I slept for 4 more hours. Then I got up and wrote this blog. Kinda depressing, huh.

My life sucks."

How many times have you seen something like this in 'blogspace'. I see it all the time, and except for the few times when the blogs are so pathetically bad as to be humorous, I find these kind of blogs (and there are thousands of them out there like this) a HUGE waste of time.

My advice - please, dude, don't write!!! When I go on a focused blog search, I am looking for writings that amuse, inspire, anger or annoy, or even perhaps tittilate me a litte. Is short, I'm looking for blogs that add some meaning to my world, writing that helps me connect with the world.

So dude, say something, or don't blog. I'm looking for people with positive things to blog about. Reading about your pathetic life is, like, so depressing. Don't say, "well then, just don't read it." By time the blog appears on the screen, its too late.

Word Pictures

I am always very suprised (and secretly pleased) when I get complimented about my writing style, because I don't consider myself an exeptional writer.

I just enjoy painting pictures with words.

Writing is such a cathartis for me. There is just something about putting my thoughts down on a piece of paper (or on-line) that gives me real joy. I think perhaps it is because words have such power to heal the soul.

When I look at simple things, or think about simple pleasures, I find myself trying to figure out how to put that experience down into words. Just the other day I saw a cluster of young trees gently blowing in the breeze, and I was messmerized by the sight. It was so beautiful and peaceful, to see how the tree tops and the wind made the trees take the shape of a green puffy cloud, or a piece of green cotton candy blowing in the breeze. I found myself wondering "how do I put this great sight down in words?"

It's just my way of sharing my thoughts, I guess. I hope to add more to this blog in the up and coming days as I write and share my thoughts about the writing process. Hopefully, I will learn much more about this fasinating process myself, as I start down this journey.
